DescriptionThe Arduino Uno R4 is powered by the Renesas RA4M1 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor, providing a significant boost in processing power, memory, and functionality. The WiFi version comes with an ESP32-S3 WiFi module in addition to the RA4M1, expanding creative opportunities for makers and engineers. The Uno R4 Minima is an affordable option for those who don’t need the additional features. The Arduino Uno R4 runs at 48 MHz, which provides a 3x increase over the popular Uno R3. Additionally, SRAM has been upgraded from 2 kB to 32 kB, and flash memory from 32 kB to 256 kB to support more complex projects. Responding to community feedback, the USB port is now USB‑C, and the maximum power supply voltage has been raised to 24 V with an enhanced thermal design. The board includes a CAN bus and an SPI port, enabling users to reduce wiring and perform parallel tasks by connecting multiple shields. A 12-bit analog DAC is also provided on the board. SpecificationsHere you will find the technical specifications for the Arduino® UNO R4 WiFi.Note on ESP header: the ESP32-S3 module on this board operates on 3.3 V. The ESP header located close to the USB‑C® connector is 3.3V only and should not be connected to 5 V. This may damage your board.Note on Qwiic connector: the Qwiic connector on this board is connected to a secondary I2C bus on this board, IIC0. This connector is 3.3 V only, connecting higher voltages may damage your board. To initialize this bus, use Wire1.begin() instead.Maximum current draw per pin: the UNO R4 series’ maximum current draw per GPIO is 8 mA, which is significantly lower than previous versions. Exceeding this limit may damage your pin / board.BoardNameArduino® UNO R4 WiFiSKUARD-20623MicrocontrollerRenesas RA4M1 (Arm® Cortex®-M4)Radio ModuleESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8USBUSB‑C®Programming PortPinsDigital I/O Pins14Analog input pins6DAC1PWM pins6External interrupts2,3CommunicationUARTYes, 1xI2CYes, 1xSPIYes, 1xCANYes 1 CAN BusPowerCircuit operating voltage5 V (ESP32-S3 is 3.3 V)Input voltage (VIN)6–24 VDC Current per I/O Pin8 mAClock speedRA4M148 MHzESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8up to 240 MHzMemoryRA4M1256 kB Flash, 32 kB RAMESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8384 kB ROM, 512 kB SRAMDimensionsWidth68.85 mmLength53.34 mmArduino Uno R4 WiFi vs. MinimaThe Arduino Uno R4 comes in 2 versions (Minima and WiFi) and offers the following new features compared to the Uno R3:Arduino Uno R4 MinimaArduino Uno R4 WiFiUSB‑C connectorUSB‑C connectorRA4M1 from Renesas (Cortex-M4)RA4M1 from Renesas (Cortex-M4)HID device (emulate a mouse or a keyboard)HID device (emulate a mouse or a keyboard)Improved power section (up to 24 V through VIN)Improved power section (up to 24 V through VIN)CAN busCAN busDAC (12 bits)DAC (12 bits)Op ampOp ampWiFi/Bluetooth LEFully-addressable LED matrix (12x8)Qwiic I²C connectorRTC (with support for a buffer battery)Runtime errors diagnosticsModel ComparisonUno R3Uno R4 MinimaUno R4 WiFiMicrocontrollerMicrochip ATmega328P (8‑bit AVR RISC)Renesas RA4M1 (32-bit ARM Cortex-M4)Renesas RA4M1 (32-bit ARM Cortex-M4)Operating Voltage5 V5 V5 VInput Voltage6–20 V6–24 V6–24 VDigital I/O Pins141414PWM Digital I/O Pins666Analog Input Pins666DC Current per I/O Pin20 mA8 mA8 mAClock Speed16 MHz48 Mhz48 MhzFlash Memory32 KB256 KB256 KBSRAM2 KB32 KB32 KBUSBUSB‑BUSB‑CUSB‑CDAC (12 bit)–11SPI122I²C122CAN–11Op amp–11SWD–11RTC––1Qwiic I²C connector––1LED Matrix––12x8 (96 red LEDs)LED_BUILTIN131313Dimensions68.6 x 53.4 mm68.9 x 53.4 mm68.9 x 53.4 mm ResourcesGitHub CodesDatasheetSchematics
